About

"I am interested in exploring color combinations and their emotional effects using acrylics, pastels, inks, pencil and anything that will make a beautiful mark on the canvas. My abstract landscapes take form intuitively, with contrasts of large gestures and delicate lines. They are an energetic, open conversation between myself, my colors of choice, technique and movement, the canvas and the viewer. Drawing from childhood memories of the 80's, natural surroundings and thoughts of an idyllic happy place, I aim to evoke feelings of joy - to inspire personal reflection and creativity." - Jen Kroeger

Jen Kroeger is an expressionist artist based in Sarasota, Florida. Though she mainly uses acrylics on canvas, she creates using various mediums, continually learning and feeding her sense of wonder in new techniques. She has a deep appreciation for nature - especially the lush foliage and bright colors of her current tropical surroundings. Her abstract landscapes combine the inspiring beauty she sees in her everyday life, mingled with nostalgic nods to her eighties upbringing and inspiration from her background as a fashion designer. Her work is currently exhibited in SRQ East Art Studios (SEAS) and can be found in corporate and private collections.
